Cobblestone Piano Sonata

From a slightly low, wide-angle vantage the cobbles and a whimsical procession of bicycles suspended above the street pull the eye toward an upright grand piano that has grown seamlessly into a mature oak—at first a familiar instrument, then a startling discovery as the keyboard unfurls into living branches sprouting leaves and hosting small birds, the piano’s lacquered bark and paint-splattered keys rendered in crisp tactile detail while the park behind it softens into a gentle blur and a young woman in a paint-speckled coat stands to the right, catching the golden light.
